In May 2017 the LAG approved funding under the LEADER 2014-20 programme for the following project:
Laggan Glamping - up to a total of £51482.20. Project aims: The aim of this project is to install 4 high quality, heated camping pods with bathrooms and basic cooking facilities to sleep 4 adults. The provision of high quality accommodation on a croft location will give visitors the authentic holiday experience outlined by surveys of tourists in the Cairngorm National Park. This will expand the already successful bed and breakfast enterprise which has been recently extended. It will secure two part-time jobs for assistants to help with catering and customer service. As part of the community benefit aspect of the project the applicant has partnership agreements in place with 2 charities for a total of 90 bed nights per year over 3 years to provide free access to accommodation when walking the East Highland Way or to provide short breaks in the Cairngorms for disadvantaged youngsters free of charge.
