The Hong Kong Prize and the Hong Kong Film Awards

The Hong Kong prize is one of the region’s premier writing competitions. Its winners are rewarded with monetary prizes and book vouchers, as well as the chance to showcase their talent at an awards ceremony. Taking part in the contest can help writers establish their reputation and increase their chances of landing a writing job in the future. But it’s important to understand the rules and regulations before you submit an entry. Otherwise, you might end up making costly mistakes that could jeopardize your chances of winning.

This year’s winners of the hongkong prize were a mix of local and international artists. The grand prize went to Pakistani artist Sameen Agha for her piece, which depicted a woman’s journey in the aftermath of an armed conflict. Other works explored themes such as honour and disgrace. The award’s judges praised Agha for her ability to capture the hardships of modern society and convey them in her art.

The BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize (STIP), founded in 2022 by the Hong Kong Alliance of Technology and Innovation and title sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, is a merit-based reward for scientists and research teams, or research-related institutions established by a Hong Kong higher education institution, with significant achievements in scientific or technological innovation and transformation for the benefit of society. The BOCHK STIP is widely supported by universities, researchers and innovative enterprises in Hong Kong and beyond, attracting global scholars to nominate outstanding individuals and teams for the award.

A total of five awardees will be selected in each category. Each organiser is responsible for drawing up the rules of its award competition, publicising and inviting entries, as well as conducting a preliminary evaluation of entries. Overall coordination of the HKAI is provided by the Organising Committee, with members drawn from the respective organisers of the award competitions.
